It took longer than expected, but sales are about to start at Royal Palm Polo, a luxury home community in Boca Raton. The builder, Toll Brothers, will begin accepting contracts Dec. 6 at the 223-home development on Jog Road just north of Clint Moore Road. The homes are priced from $1.5 million. Toll Brothers broke ground this spring and said sales probably would start in May, but the builder pushed back the date until two model homes and the entranceway were completed. Fred Pfister, Toll's division vice president, said Tuesday that about 1,800 people have added their names to a list and expressed interest in Royal Palm."We think we're going to come out of the ground strong," Pfister said. "The luxury market is taking a bigger piece of the pie these days, and this is the only brand new community in the city [limits] of Boca Raton. This area has strong demand for high-end, luxury homes."
Horsham, Pa.-based Toll Brothers bought the 121-acre Royal Palm Polo site — former polo fields — from the Oxley family for $80 million. The city of Boca Raton annexed the land last year. The site is next to Azura, another luxury community by Toll.The Royal Palm homes will have four to eight bedrooms and include pools and spas. All the lots will be 90 feet wide by 140 feet deep. Amenities include a clubhouse, community pool and tennis courts.
